    Terms and conditions

     

    On your first day you will have to take a placement test at 8.30am and then we will confirm your level and timetable. Classes can be in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the level and the number of places available in each group.

    Students who have booked accommodation should arrive on the Sunday before the course starts. Departure is normally on the Saturday after the end of the course. Additional nights can be booked at extra cost.

    On arrival students have to collect their welcome pack which includes information about the school, the type of course chosen, the accommodation and information about the city, as well as the keys to the accommodation (in case of accommodation in flats).

    It is possible to book airport pick-up on arrival (at extra cost).

    There will be no compensation for class time lost due to the placement test.

    Students are not insured by Espanole International House Valencia against illness, accident, theft, damage or loss of personal belongings and therefore the school cannot assume responsibility in such cases.

    Before coming, you should check whether your country has health agreements with Spain. If this is the case, you should obtain the forms and documentation before leaving your country. (European Community citizens are covered by the Spanish National Health System against accidents and illnesses. Non-EU citizens must have an international health insurance policy that is valid for Spain).

    Medical insurance is essential for all students, but we also recommend full private insurance (travel, cancellation, loss of property, etc.) Make sure your insurance covers all possible emergencies.

    There will be no classes on public holidays.

    There will be no compensation for these days, only private lessons will be made up. In the event of two public holidays in the same week, one of them will be made up.

    The two national and local holidays may be subject to change, please check with us for exact dates before enrolling.

    School and courses

    The school is located in the historic Palacio de los Fernández de Córdova, in the heart of Valencia's old town. This wonderful building has been carefully refurbished to meet all the requirements of a modern and contemporary language school, respecting the history of the place and preserving its unique atmosphere.
    Courses are offered throughout the year and most of the courses start on any Monday of the year (except total beginners). Some special courses start on the first Monday of each month. Exam preparation courses have start dates which may vary depending on the date of the exam.
    On public holidays the school is closed, but lessons are replaced by a free excursion. If the public holiday is on Monday at the beginning of the course, students must book their place on the excursion before arrival.
    There are groups for all levels. On the first day of class all students take a placement test (except total beginners), which assesses writing, reading and speaking skills as well as knowledge of grammar. During the course progress is closely monitored by the teachers. The written test can also be taken online before arrival.
    The duration of the Spanish classes is 50 minutes.
    At the end of the course you will receive a certificate indicating the type of course you have attended, the duration and the level achieved.

    Accommodation

    If you require a special diet for religious, health or ethical reasons, we can provide special meals. You just need to clearly specify your dietary requirements when you make your booking. This supplement for special diets is €25 per week.
    You have different options to choose from. In the host family you become familiar with the Spanish way of life. If you choose a shared flat or a residence you will have the possibility to cook and you will live with other students from the school. The flats are well equipped but they are not luxurious. The student residence is also a good option.
    The accommodation offered by the Spanish school is located close to the school, the distance between the accommodation and the school is about 25 minutes on foot or by public transport.
    Bed linen is included, you will need to bring your own towels if you choose to stay in a shared flat. In host families the towels are washed once a week. In any case, we suggest that you bring your own beach towel and bath towel whatever type of accommodation you choose.
