    All AIL Madrid teachers are native Spanish speakers who, in addition to having a university degree, have post graduate qualifications in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. They also have from 3 to 17 years of experience in teaching Spanish.
    Books and educational material
    AIL Madrid uses Prisma and SUEÑA textbooks, as well as their own materials.
    Use of the new technologies
    AIL Madrid uses an online game (Kahoot), created by the teaches that works with students' mobiles. They also use Nearpod, an interactive learning platform.

    Terms and conditions

    Courses are contracted directly with AIL Madrid. The school does not guarantee specific teachers, classrooms or timetables and reserves the right to make the planning changes that it considers necessary, including moving students between its Núñez de Balboa 17 and O'Donnell 27 school or any other suitably equipped central Madrid locations.
    All bookings made online are subject to confirmation by email.
    One class lasts 50 minutes except evening classes (45 minutes).
    Intensive classes have morning and afternoon schedules. AIL Madrid places students in the group which most appropriately corresponds to their level. Class schedules may be subject to change. Timetable preferences should be communicated when booking but cannot be guaranteed.  
    If a student’s level of Spanish is unsuitable for the course he/she has booked, AIL Madrid reserves the right to move the student to a more suitable class.
    Group classes (except evening and Friday afternoon/Saturday morning classes) can only be rescheduled if the Student Care Team is informed in writing (by email) before 12pm on Wednesday of the week prior to the week that is to be cancelled. Cancellations apply for a whole week, not individual days.
    Individual and evening classes can only be rescheduled if the Student Care Team is informed in writing (by email) 24 hours (and at least one working day) before the scheduled time of the class.
    Travel costs, food and drink, examination fees and entrance charges levied by third parties (museums, etc.) are not included in the course price.
    In the exceptional case that there is only 1 student enrolled on a course of a certain level, the number of classes will be reduced to 40% of the published number and 80% in the case of 2 students.
    If student comes to AIL Madrid through an agent, their terms and conditions may apply; AIL Madrid reserves the right to apply our terms.

    School and courses

    The school is located in the prestigious Salamanca district, just a few minutes from Retiro Park, an ideal area for activities between classes and in the evenings.
    Courses are available all year round and most of our courses start on any Monday of the year (except absolute beginners). Some special courses start on the first Monday of each month. Exam preparation courses have start dates which may vary depending on the date of the exam.
    AIL Madrid is the only Spanish language school in Madrid that makes up for all classes and activities missed due to national or local public holidays, regardless of the type of course, the length of the booking, the number of public holidays in the week and the time of the year WITHOUT exception.
    The academic coordinators are highly qualified and will analyse the Spanish level test and self-assessment that we will ask you to complete before your arrival to find a group that matches your level of Spanish language skills and knowledge. However, if after your first day of classes you feel that the group you have been placed in is too easy or too difficult, let us know! We will test your Spanish once again to place you in a group more suitable for your level.
    The classes are designed to make the most of the learning time and so that the students do not feel that the class is heavy, which is why the classes last 50 minutes each.
    Each student receives a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course and has the option to take an exam at the end of the course. To receive a certificate of completion, the student must obtain a passing grade of 60/100 or higher.

    Accommodation

    We will personally ensure that host families are aware of any dietary restrictions in advance. Madrid has an incredible amount of dietary options: most supermarkets have gluten-free sections (even the family-run corner shops), and all offer lactose-free products. Most restaurants also provide information on allergies, so your will certainly be able to avoid the food you don't eat.
    The school offers four types of accommodation: shared flat, host family, student residence and private flat.
    The accommodations are located in central districts of Madrid and all are well connected by public transport (less than 30 minutes from the centre).
    In case of cancellations before arrival, the surcharges established in the cancellation policy will be applied, which are: cancellation more that 30 days before the start of the programme withholding 10% of the value of the contracted package, cancellation between 15 and 29 days before the start of the programme withholding 25% of the value of the contracted package, cancellation between 5 and 14 days before the start of the programme, withholding 50% of the value of the contracted package, cancellation between 1 and 4 days before the start of the programme withholding 90% of the value of the contracted package. 100% of the value of the contracted package will be retained if the student does not show up at the departure or start of the programme. Cancellations made after arrival are non-refundable.
    There are usually an average of 4 to 7 students living in each flat at any one time.
