Academia Iria Flavia is a Spanish language school in Santiago de Compostela which was founded in 1994. It is located very close to the historic centre and the main monuments. It is a small, family-run Spanish language school, strategically located two minutes walk from the monumental area and another two minutes from the shopping area.

It offers a wide variety of Spanish courses aimed at adults, university students and secondary school students, as well as specific training for native and non-native Spanish teachers.

The profile of the students is quite varied: adults travelling alone, families with children, non-native Spanish teachers, school groups and university students etc.

Santiago de Compostela is a quiet, safe and very welcoming city. It's fun and dynamic, very manageable and not overcrowded. The school will organise your entire stay and accommodation, and will ultimately aim to help you learn and develop your Spanish language skills.

 

Academia Iria Flavia is a small but family-like Spanish school, strategically located two minutes walk from the monumental area and other two minutes from the commercial zone.

    Academia Iria Flavia is a Spanish language school certified by the Instituto Cervantes founded in Santiago de Compostela in 1994. 

    Since then, thousands of students from all continents have discovered the wonders of this monumental city, its countless parks and its gastronomy, while learning Spanish.

    The school is strategically located just a two-minute walk from the monumental area and another two minutes from the shopping area.

    It also offers you a programme of  activities every week, so that you can use your Spanish outside the classroom and socialise with other students.

    There is a wide range of Spanish courses for adults, university students and secondary school students, as well as specific training for native and non-native Spanish teachers. The experienced teachers will help you to enjoy your stay.

    The staff is made up of native teachers with university studies related to teaching, good communication skills and extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

    School and courses

    It is located 2 minutes from the historic centre and very close to the main monuments. It is a small school, that offer personal attention to all the students.
    The courses are run all year round.
    Classes missed due to national and local holidays can not be made upo, except in the case of Individual Courses and the individual hours of the Intensive Course 25+5.
    Your level of Spanish is not important, as you will be able to take a written and oral level test. The results of this test will allow us to establish your level and the most suitable group for you.
    45 minutes
    At the end of your course you will receive one of the following certificates: Certificate of attendance, statingthe number of hours and the level of the course you have completed. To receive it, you must attend at least 80% of the classes. Certificate of achievement, stating the number of hours of the course and the level you have reached. To receive it, you must attend at least 80% of the classes and pass an exam at the end of the course.

    Accommodation

    If you require a special diet for religious, health or ethical reasons, we can provide special meals. You just need to clearly specify your dietary requirements when you make your booking. There is an additional charge of €50 per week for this special diet.
    The school offers three types of accommodation: shared flat, host family and student residence.
    All accommodation is located maximum 30 minutes walking from the school.
    The latest arrival time at our accommodation is 00.00. If you are travelling by plane, please note that the bus takes 20 minutes to reach the city centre. If your expected arrival time is later, you will need to book alternative accommodation for the first night.
    The school provides a transfer service to pick you up from the airport and take you to the address of your accommodation. There is an additional cost for this service.
